A good Test Design forms the cornerstone of any test process in ensuring quality. Though 50 to 65% of testing time is spent on the design activity, little has evolved in automation of the same and it has been highly dependant on an individual’s expertise and experience.

SOA performance, data generation, configuration & version control, build & release management – we do not yet have any robust tool offering for achieving better quality design.
Testac is Maveric’s proprietary, domain-centric test design tool that empowers testing teams with automated generation of test cases for end-to-end as well as regression testing requirements. Testac brings a rigor to Test Design phase, focusing on “What to test” and “How much to test”.
With a strong foundation in Model Based testing, Testac encapsulates business knowledge on processes and rules using proprietary frameworks enabling Maveric to deliver significantly enhanced productivity and coverage to clients.
Testac makes extensive use of state-based and transition-based notations to capture the various elements of the business model as relevant for generation of tests. Powerful algorithms that encompass boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, graphical analysis, rule of N and orthogonal array (pair-wise testing) are applied on the model to come up with optimum number of abstract tests. These abstract tests then get concretized by automated generation of relevant test data, mapping of the scenarios to the application under test and sequencing together into executable scenarios.
This approach provides a strong mechanism to measure test coverage against the defined model and ensure traceability of test results to rules / requirements
